Top Best 18+ Erotic movies on Netflix |
S*x movies on Netflix are scarce, but still we found some memorable erotic films perfect for a steamy evening at home. Watching them on your own or in good company – that's for you to decide!
There are all kinds of sexy movies to turn to if you fancy some adult content, from infamous mainstream hits like Fifty Shades of Grey to new releases like Burning Betrayal
Burning Betrayal (2023)
Adapted from Sue Hecker's novel, Burning Betrayal plays in the same league as 365 Days, but is maybe less problematic.
This steamy Brazilian movie follows Barbara (aka Babi), who is buried in the preparations for her wedding, even if deep down she knows something is not right with her boyfriend. Well, it turns out he was cheating on her!
Babi doesn't think about it twice before she breaks the engagement, buys back her motorbike and starts a torrid affair with a hot judge.
Burning Betrayal has parts s*x movie, parts thriller, so it makes a very entertaining watch.
Happy Ending (2023)
Happy Ending follows young couple Luna and Mink, who, on the first anniversary of their relationship, face a harsh truth: Luna has been faking all of her orgasms since they met. Ouch.
To find a solution, they decide to welcome a new person into their relationship – with life-changing consequences. This isn't the wild romance we might find in some of the sex movies on this list. Instead, it's a tender portrait of female desire.
Directed by Joosje Duk, this Dutch romantic comedy offers a kind-hearted perspective on the importance of s*x, intimacy and pleasure in relationships.
Lady Chatterley's Lover (2022)
The story follows Constance 'Connie' Reid (played by The Crown's Emma Corrin), a young woman whose happy marriage with Baronet of Wragby, Sir Clifford Chatterley, turns into a s*xless, joyless relationship after he comes back paralysed from WWI.
After a while, Connie starts an affair with the estate's gamekeeper, Oliver Mellors (Jack O'Connell), which reminds her what it was like to be desired and loved.
The glorious naked dance scene in Lady Chatterley's Lover is just one of many sensual moments the movie has to offer.
Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
Granted, Fifty Shades of Grey is not a great movie, as EL James's book is not the finest piece of literature.
However, director Sam Taylor-Johnson found a playful side to the story in this first instalment, and two actors were willing to give a good enough show.
Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan led this adaptation through poor reviews and box-office success, leaving some memorable scenes on the way. We're thinking about that first encounter at the office – where both a pen and a skyscraper become phallic objects in a wicked game of power – or the spicy contract reading in a meeting room drowned in red shadowy light.
Following Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey at the start of a highly secretive BDSM relationship, Fifty Shades of Grey is as steamy as it gets in mainstream Hollywood movies.
It's also included in our list of movie s*x scenes where things went wrong behind the cameras...
365 Days: This Day (2022)
Why would we jump straight to the second movie of this Polish Netflix trilogy, you ask? Well, because 365 Days is a toxic, sexist waste, no matter how many s*x scenes it features.
It's not that the second sequel, The Next 365 Days, is a fantastic movie either, but at least we get to enjoy the sexy parts without having to endure the Stockholm Syndrome beginnings of Laura and Massimo's love story.
After all, many viewers might not be looking for excellence – or relationship goals, for that matter – in these movies, but just a steamy watch.
Duck Butter (2018)
Alia Shawkat and Laia Costa star in this romantic drama with lots of intimate scenes. After all, that's what Duck Butter is all about: exploring the nature of intimacy, desire, s*x and relationships.
Directed by Miguel Arteta, the film follows two young women who haven't been lucky in their romantic relationships so far. So, they decide to carry out a curious experiment: For 24 hours, nothing will exist but them, their bodies, their shared existence.
Consequently, emotions are rawer and more intense than ever (almost like these s*x scenes with unsimulated s*x) and a relationship that has existed for less than a day becomes the most important thing in the world.
White Girl (2016)
Elizabeth Wood's controversial film White Girl is firmly among the best s*x movies on Netflix – but there's more to unpack in its story than just its most sensual moments.
The story follows college student Leah (Homeland's Morgan Saylor), who decides to stay in New York City for the summer with her best friend Katie (India Menuez), living in Ridgewood, Queens.
Drugs take her life by storm as she tangles herself in the dangerous worlds of street gangs, trafficking and violence – plus surprisingly explicit s*x, full-frontal nudity and many intimate moments.
Dry Martina (2018)
S*x is central to this frisky Argentine-Chilean dramedy, written and directed by Che Sandoval.
The story follows Martina, a former child star going through a rough patch after a bad breakup. That emotional blow leads to the loss of her once-notorious sexual drive – hence the title of the movie – so she's desperate to find a way back to sexual pleasure.
In the meantime, a woman named Francisca claims to be her half-sister, and Martina goes and falls in love with Francisca's husband.
A classic tale of unexpected love, roaring desire and funny misunderstandings, Dry Martina brings joy to the best s*x movies on Netflix.
Unfaithful (2002)
Erotic thrillers very much died in the late '90s, but still, Adrian Lyne tried to bring the genre back to life with 2002's Unfaithful.
It wasn't exactly a surprising move, as Lyne made a career out of notoriously steamy movies like 9 1/2 Weeks, Fatal Attraction and Indecent Proposal. He also recently directed Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas's Deep Water.
Adapted from Claude Chabrol's The Unfaithful Wife, the movie stars Richard Gere and Diane Lane as a married couple wrecked by an unexpected affair. Suddenly, their relationship changes radically thanks to a sexual desire they thought lost in monotony.
Elisa & Marcela (2019)
If you're curious about how an octopus can be featured in a s*x scene, this movie has some answers.
Beautifully shot in black and white, Isabel Coixet's Elisa & Marcela is based on Elisa Sánchez Loriga and Marcela Gracia Ibeas's real-life love story.
In 1901, when queer love was strictly prohibited, the two women became the first same-sex marriage recorded in Spain by posing as a heterosexual couple at the Church of Saint George in A Coruña.
Coixet tells their story, allowing space for highly intimate and explicit sexual encounters, performed by actresses Natalia de Molina and Greta Fernández.
Addicted (2014)
Based on a novel by best-selling author Zane, the movie focuses on Zoe Reynard (Sharon Leal), a gallerist who seems to have everything: a perfect family, a promising career, divine outfits. And yet, she risks everything by entering into a torrid affair with a young painter.
Bashed by critics, Addicted is a soapy erotic thriller that might convince easily pleased horny viewers. Nothing wrong with that!
